Mattress Bed
Did you know the word mattress is derived from Arabic? The translation means ‘to throw’ and ‘place where something is thrown’. A bed is a piece of furniture designed for sleeping. To make a bed suitable for a comfortable night sleep a mattress is usually placed on top.
The bed is typically constructed of a wooden frame and may contain springs inside. This is known as a sprung base or box spring base. When the mattress is placed upon the bed the box acts like a suspension providing extra support.
Mattresses can be constructed of many different materials including springs, foam and latex. Depending on your requirements each type of material will offer different benefits for the end user. Spring interiors will help eliminate the roll on roll off effect. Latex will offer a springier feel and Memory foam will mould to your body contours offering excellent spinal support.
The additional support provided by the base which acts like a giant shock absorber will increase the mattress life span by a further 50%. At Mattressland we have a selection of sprung edge mattress and bed combinations from leading manufacturers such as Rest Assured, Sealy and Silentnight.
